Kirsty is a member of Anglo Americans commercial strategy team responsible for developing and implementing the marketing strategy for Anglo’s portfolio of assets. Prior to joining Anglo American in Singapore, Kirsty held marketing and sales positions with Rio Tinto and BHP Billiton in their respective metallurgical and thermal coal business units. Kirsty was also a founding shareholder of a successful international mining services company, Salva Resources.

Gillian's passion is inclusion and making sure everyone feels safe to participate and contribute in their way, and that everyone’s contribution is valued, respected and heard. In her professional life she leads copper research at Wood Mackenzie based in Singapore with a team based in China, UK and Australia. Prior to this role, she held various analysis, governance and planning & improvement roles with BHP and South32 in Singapore, and spent one year working on business development and customer success in the APAC region for DecisionNext (a US based analytics company). Before relocating to Singapore, some seven years and counting ago, she was based in London and for a few years in Beijing working for CRU in analysis and consulting roles. Gillian started her career working for the South African Chamber of Mines in Johannesburg.

Yuki leads Marketing Excellence at BHP. She grew up in Japan and has worked in three countries to date (Japan, Australia and Singapore).With almost 15 years of experience in commercial leadership roles in the mining and resources, government and SME sectors, she is a people leader with strong passion for developing future female talent in Asia. Yuki has worked for Rio Tinto and the Western Australian Government before joining BHP in 2018.

Sunaina is a business development specialist with experience across the commodity life cycle- from origination, financing to strategy, logistics and contract management. Her experience expanses from oil & gas, metals to ores & alloys across Asia Pacific, Australia, Russia and Africa. Prior to InterOil, she worked in Noble Resources as a physical trader and managed asset development for the team.

Jessica is co-head of base metals marketing for South-East Asia at Glencore Singapore Pte Ltd. Since joining in 2010, Jessica has covered various sectors relating to the metals & mining industry in the ASEAN region and been responsible for developing Glencore’s regional copper and zinc metal marketing business in particular. She holds a double degree in Finance & Marketing from the National University of Singapore Business School / University Of Southern California Marshall Business School
JULIETTE BRUSSET - MENTORING
Juliette leads Cargill Ocean Transportation Procurement efforts in Asia Pacific. Prior to this role she held various freight sales & marketing and trading positions with Cargill in Singapore, as well as Business development responsibilities with Geodis in Hong Kong. Before embarking for Asia, she was a Base Metals global buyer for ArcelorMittal in Luxembourg and has over 10 years’ experience in commodities and international trade.

Carolina is a passionate, self-motivated, highly committed professional, with over 15 years’ experience in marketing and commercial, project management and business development areas in large-scale industries. In her current role as Technical Pricing Leader in Vale, she is committed to develop and successfully implement pricing and marketing strategies on a global scale that creates value, maximizes profits and ensures sustainable corporate growth. She holds a Master degree in Science from Pontificia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio University).
SHERALYN AW - LEADERSHIP
Sheralyn was on the 2018 WIMAR mentoring committee, which lent her the experience of managing a programme. In her 7 years at BHP, she has worked in Supply and Marketing, been Planner to the VP Marketing Minerals and former WIMAR President Vicky Binns, and is now in the Commercial Strategy & Planning team. Sheralyn has a Bachelor of Social Science from Singapore Management University, and speaks Spanish and German.
Andrea’s 26 years in the mining industry has been both rewarding and fun, she has loved witnessing change come from I&D progress, especially in Singapore. She is passionate about the industry and the people within it. The industry has taken her around the world having lived in Brisbane, Tokyo, Sydney, London and now Singapore where she has lived for the past 8 years. Andrea has held various commercial roles across BHP, Shell, Anglo American, Vale and is a Senior leader today at South32, leading the Carbon Steel Raw Materials and Freight teams. Having had a primary hand in developing WIMAR since it’s inauguration, she remains committed to WIMAR, mining and the I&D space in her capacity on the Advisory Board.
Robyn is a passionate, high energy industry professional, with over 20 years’ experience in senior leadership roles globally. Never one to shy away from a challenge, Robyn’s career has focused on the complex, challenging, male dominated and culturally diverse B2B environments across the Chemical, Mining, Manufacturing, IT and Oil & Energy sectors. Her current role as APAC VP, Sales for S&P Global Platts, involves leading multi-disciplinary teams to deliver financial performance, sales strategies and business operations for the Platts businesses across Asia.

Chloe currently holds a graduate trainee role in Rio Tinto. Her first role was with the Commercial Excellence team, where she managed internal communications and best practice transfer within the organisation. She has since joined the Copper & Diamonds Central Marketing team as a graduate analyst. Prior to joining Rio Tinto, Chloe worked in a brand consultancy helping small medium enterprises in Singapore develop branding strategies and inorganic growth options.
Jessica is a Market Analyst at South32 with a focus on base metals. Prior to relocating to Singapore, Jessica worked in various upstream engineering roles spanning a number of commodities.
She holds a double degree in Engineering and business management from the University of Queensland and is currently undertaking her Masters in Mineral and Energy Economics at Curtin University.
Rosemary is a Technical Marketing Specialist at South32, with a focus on Quality Assurance for Manganese. Before relocating to Singapore she was based at the South African South32 Manganese operations as a Geologist.
She is passionate about advocating for mentorship of women in the mining industry. Rose holds a Post graduate Diploma in Business administration and enjoys writing short stories and poetry in her spare time.
As an Associate Partner of St. James’s Place Wealth Management, Yiman’s role exposes her to regular interactions with HNWI and professionals across various industries on a daily basis here in Singapore. Educated to a Master’s degree-level (MA Global Financial Management), she worked for the Lloyds Banking Group in the UK before moving to Singapore to manage Commercial Trade Financing for businesses at United Overseas Bank (UOB). Yiman devotes her spare time to her loving family, church and reading.
Charles is a Graduate Analyst for Rio Tinto under the Finance Business Partner team. A knack for identifying ROI, through the use of data analytics. Prior to Rio, he ran a digital marketing firm that helped companies make better marketing decisions based on data-driven insights and market feedback.
Elle is the connector between legal and commercial spaces. She is leading contract team at Anglo American for Iron Ore business. Prior to that, Elle held contract management and business development positions with Rio Tinto, Worley and CNOOC. Elle is passionate about drafting, negotiating and eventually concluding different types of contracts from legal as well as commercial perspectives. In her spare time, she enjoys reading and spending time with her lovely family. Elle holds a Master degree in Law from China University of Political Science and Law.
Valerie is Precious Metals Sales Manager for Asia Pacific in Anglo American. She is responsible for selling Anglo American’s products as well as looking for opportunities to trade third party products in Asia Pacific region. Since Joining in December 2013, she has made significant contributions across many areas of Precious Metals Asia marketing team and delivered excellent profit margin as well set up the fast and economic distribution of precious metals in Asia. She is also a volunteer in Gardens By The Bay and tour guiding at Singapore Garden Festival 2018.
Tariq is Head of Sales Marketing Metals for BHP in Singapore where he leads a high performing, diverse team of Marketeers and Traders. Tariq is responsible for sales, marketing, logistics, risk, pricing for copper and zinc concentrate across a global portfolio with annual revenue of more than US$8bn.
Prior roles with BHP included Head of Sales Marketing Copper cathode and uranium, Regional Marketing Manager and Market Manager Analysis – Copper.
Born and educated in UK, Tariq attended the University of East Anglia, graduating with a Bachelors and Masters degrees in Development Economics and International Relations.
Tariq is married to Claire, together they are bringing up their three daughters, Lila, Zakia and Balquisse.
Jay is a technical marketer at South32, and he specialises in converting natural resources into commercial value. His career has spanned from upstream operation in Australia to frontline market development in various countries. With the experience of engaging people from different backgrounds, he appreciates the beauty of cultural inclusion and diversity. Jay is open-minded and strives for making everyday a good day.
Fay is the metals editor in S&P Global Platts, looking after pricing and news coverage of Asia steel market. She joined Platts from the Commodity Associate Graduate Program and spent a year in the Agriculture team before moving to Metals in November 2017.
Irina is a Supply Chain Planner with over 8 years experience in various commodities at BHP and South32 Marketing. She is currently working on the ERP Transformation project applying her supply chain and systems expertise to shape the future of technology used by the Marketing team. Irina holds a Masters degree in Economics and the early years in her career were spent across various roles in the shipping and logistics industry in the Netherlands. Irina is a supporter of flexible working arrangements and juggles work and spending time with her two boys. Favourite past times are feeding the turtles at the park, otter watching along the river and scooting around the Gardens by the Bay. She loves to travel and explore new places with her family.
Gabriella is a member of BHP’s Market Risk Management team. Before relocating to Singapore, she was based in Hobart and Melbourne working in the Wholesale Electricity space.
She absolutely loved volunteering as a Non-Executive Director of Disability Sport and Recreation, a non-for-profit organisation based in Melbourne.
She holds degrees in Business & Economics, and a Master of Finance from the University of Tasmania.
An economics graduate and CIMA associate, Anushika is a sales and marketing professional with a wealth of experience in the global mining industry. She spent six years at Rio Tinto working on the development of marketing strategies, tools and processes across a wide range of business units and geographies. She then went onto work for the Anglo American Platinum Marketing team managing Western Hemisphere sales for the major Precious Metal products. During this time she was recognised as one of the “100 Global Inspirational Women in Mining” and was featured on the Management Today’s ’35 women under 35’ award list, which celebrates high-achieving women in business. Anushika now works for Anglo's Commercial Strategy team supporting the development and implementation of the marketing strategy for the Group's portfolio of assets.
Lee manages Energy and Technology Research in the Market Analysis and Economics team at BHP. She joined BHP’s Singapore office in 2017 after spending five years with IHS Markit, first in Washington, DC and then in Beijing, where she covered global LNG, Chinese energy markets and carbon. Before IHS, she worked at the International Energy Forum, the US State Department, and as a policy and energy analyst at a US Congressional Commission. Lee graduated from Johns Hopkins University with an MA in International Economics and also holds a BA in Government and Chinese from Georgetown University.
Pooja is a member of BHP’s commercial team responsible for developing and implementing the category strategy for Technology. Prior to BHP, Pooja was a management consultant and has worked across 6 countries to develop supply chain strategies for companies across various industries and sector. She holds a MBA from Melbourne Business School, Australia
She is currently serving as Product Specialist at Rio Tinto Aluminium Sales and Marketing, Primary Metal Group in Singapore focusing on the contracting strategy & sales negotiation and market intelligence & analysis.
Prior to this role, she held diverse commercial sales and marketing, procurement and project management skills and cross cultural proficiency from assignment in Mongolia, USA roles with Rio Tinto.
Outside of work, she enjoys volunteering and supporter of diversity and inclusion.
YEN LING LEE
Yen Ling has worked as a Finance Professional for most of her career across a range of industries including public practice, hospitality and mining & resources. She is passionate about process improvement and is currently working on a project simplifying the procurement process in BHP. Prior to this role, she held various business partnership, planning & improvement roles with BHP.
Outside of work, she enjoys endurance sports and spending time with her partner and their 3 kids.”
Valerie helped to organise the 2018 Mentoring programme, and brings her experience to the team in 2019. She strongly believes in the power of mentoring and its benefits to both mentors and mentees.
Valerie is currently with BHP in the Copper Cathodes sales team. Prior to this experience, she also interned in the Finance Entity Accounting, Macroeconomic Analysis, and Metals Strategy teams. She holds a Bachelor of Social Sciences (Economics) from the National University of Singapore. In her free time, Valerie plays the violin and piano, and is a wood and metal craft enthusiast.
Eufracia Taylor is a Managing Consultant based out of Verisk Maplecroft’s Singapore office. She has extensive experience in analysing country risk and works closely with clients to identify, assess and advise on political, regulatory and reputational risks. In particular, Eufracia supports companies in the mining and oil and gas sectors, helping them to address and manage key and emerging issues, as well as understand their stakeholder landscapes.
Eufracia also provides risk analysis and forecasts to companies across multiple sectors, and her comments are regularly featured in the international media, including Bloomberg, the Wall Street Journal, the Financial Times, Channel News Asia, CNN and BBC World.
Prior to joining Verisk Maplecroft, Eufracia worked as an independent analyst at IHS Jane’s Aerospace and Defence Consulting. Eufracia holds a master’s degree in International Peace and Security from King’s College London and a bachelor’s degree in Politics and International Relations from the University of Sheffield. She also completed a study year at the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
Linda Zhang joined Wood Mackenzie in 2017, she is specialized in nickel on both cost and market. She has established strong industry network in APAC region, and has presented at several conferences in both China and Indonesia.
Prior to joining Woodmac, Linda Zhang has worked in Thomson Reuters metals research (GFMS) for 3 years in both Shanghai and Singapore, her coverage was nickel and copper market. She was the editor and co-author of base metals biweekly report and periodical publications.
Linda Zhang graduated from Johns Hopkins University with a MS applied economics degree. She also holds a BSc degree of Finance in Zhejiang University.
Ashima Taneja is the Head of the Asia-Pacific Upstream Research team in Wood Mackenzie based across Singapore, Perth, Beijing and Delhi. She leads the delivery of the Asia-Pacific Upstream Service as well as coaching and development of the team. She is also responsible for providing clients with in-depth commercial analysis and insight on the upstream sector, particularly on asset and corporate valuation, market strategy and identification of growth opportunities. She has joined Wood Mackenzie in 2014 as an Analyst covering Southeast Asia and transitioned to managing the Southeast Asia service and team in 2016.
Prior to Wood Mackenzie, covered a wide range of projects and business development across the energy value chain as part of Centrica’s North American M&A team based in Toronto, Canada. She led the project management activities on greenfield power projects in Asia and the Middle East as part of Lanco Power International based in Singapore.
Ashima holds a Master of Business Administration degree from INSEAD (Singapore) and a Bachelor of Arts from Mount Holyoke College (USA).
Meitheng is a commercial graduate in BHP who passionate about mining and resources industry. Her first role was with the Project Delivery team where she has the responsibility managing varies improvement projects such as system deployment and centralisation initiatives. Currently, she is with Copper Cathodes sales team as scheduler.
Prior to BHP, she worked in different mining related companies such as Anglo American and GlobalORe. She graduated from Nanyang Technology University, Singapore with a BA (Hons) in Economics.
Priyanka was part of the organising team of WIMAR Gala Awards in 2018. Priyanka is part of BHP’s Graduate Programme. Currently, she is in the Coal team as a Scheduler. She previously worked in the Improvement team for Marketing during her 1st year of the graduate programme during which she was heavily involved in various improvement projects for the company. She graduated from National University of Singapore (NUS) with a degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Puneet is a Principal Commercial in BHP’s Maritime Enterprise commercial team with over 8 years of experience in Supply chain. Puneet is responsible for Maritime supply chain of copper cathodes, nickel, uranium metals & inbound supply maritime supply chain.
He is also volunteer in BHP’s Singapore Community committee. He loves to travel and explore new food with his wife.
He holds degree in Graphics Designing and Supply chain management from Swinburne University.
